Advancements in Rights in Mexico City

The Secretary of Planning, Territorial Order, and Metropolitan Coordination, Alejandro Encinas, highlighted the importance of advancing the harmonization of different laws in Mexico City, despite the fact that the Political Constitution of the City is advanced in rights and freedoms. We will work with the Morena Parliamentary Group and allies to achieve this goal, Encinas stated.

At the inauguration of the photographic exhibition "The Constituent Legacy of 1917 / 2017", the pending need for the Metropolitan Coordination Law was mentioned and how this is a priority for the Government in the task of breaking down the invisible barriers that separate neighboring states from Mexico City.

Encinas Rodríguez also highlighted the importance of reviewing the Judicial Power, especially concerning the autonomy of the Judicial Council, a topic that has generated controversy. Within this commemorative framework, the commitment of the Morena Parliamentary Group to work on reforms to the local Constitution to adapt to the constant changes that the City experiences was reaffirmed.

The Coordinator of the Morena Parliamentary Group, Xóchitl Bravo, emphasized the intention to strengthen rights in the City for various groups in society, such as women, the elderly, people with disabilities, and other populations. The goal is to continue expanding rights from the local Congress, as Bravo indicated.
