A new lawsuit has been added to those previously expressed by the organizations calling for the megamarch this Monday. The Association of Transporters, Merchants, and Affiliates in the State of Mexico (ACME) and the AAA indicated that several of their members have been victims of the recent operations by the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico, known as 'Operation Atarraya'.

'From ACME, we denounce the harassment, extortion, and fabrication of crimes that the Attorney's Office and other authorities have used as a tool of repression against those of us who work honestly,' states ACME in its call.

A megamarch of transporters and merchants from organizations in the State of Mexico threatens to turn traffic and main roads into chaos from the early hours of this Monday, February 17. The Union of Transporters, Merchants, and Entrepreneurs of the Mexican Republic has called for a march from several entry points to Mexico City from Edomex. Similarly, the Alliance of Autonomous Transporters of the Mexican Republic issued a statement announcing the departure centers for the march that will begin at 8:00 AM.

The megamarch of transporters, merchants, and entrepreneurs will affect several of the major roads connecting the State of Mexico with the capital of the country. The meeting points for the departure of the demonstration are diverse, including the San Cristobal Iron Bridge, the Mexico-Querétaro Toll Booth, and La Marquesa on the Mexico-Toluca highway. The goal is to reach the capital's Zócalo so that President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo can address and receive their demands.

The operations of 'Operation Atarraya' have been carried out in various municipalities of Edomex, generating controversy and complaints from several organizations accusing the authorities of planting evidence and extorting merchants. Since January, transporters had threatened blockades and demonstrations in Mexico City, denouncing extortions from criminal groups and lack of security.

Meanwhile, health sector workers are also planning protests to demand improvements in their work areas. The estimated duration of the megamarch is unknown at this time, but the calling organizations have expressed messages of support for President Sheinbaum on their social networks.
