Transporters initiated a protest blocking several points in Mexico City and the State of Mexico shortly before 7:00 AM on Monday. The protesters demand an end to the violence against their guild and are heading towards the zócalo of CDMX. Among the blocked points are the Puente de Fierro in San Cristóbal, the Mexico-Querétaro toll booth in Tepotzotlán, among others.
The Control, Command, Communication, Computing, and Quality Center (C5) of Edomex registered roadblocks on highways and toll booths towards CDMX. Images of the traffic chaos caused by these closures were shared on social media. The transporters have generated a significant impact on the area's mobility.
On the other hand, health personnel have also joined the protest by starting their mega march. They demand medical supplies, respect for their labor rights, and an effective response from authorities regarding issues within the healthcare system. They have taken key points such as the entrances to the AICM and AIFA airports, sections of the Periférico Norte, among others.
Given the blockages and mega marches, motorists are advised to take precautions and seek alternative routes to avoid traffic at the affected points. The situation is still developing, and it is expected that the protesters will continue their demonstrations throughout the day.
