Traffic and Protests Expected in Mexico City

The Institute of Nature Protection (I.P.N.) has reported a series of lane closures and traffic disruptions on various roadways in Mexico City, affecting mobility in several areas. Closures have been reported in places such as Calzada Ribera de San Cosme, Av. Talismán, Calle Norte 92, Calle Digna Ochoa, Juan A. Mateos, Calle Norte 94, Calle Carlos A. Lindbergh, and other strategic points in the capital.

In light of these closures, drivers are advised to take alternate routes such as Avenida Hidalgo, Avenida Juárez, Eje 1 Poniente, Doctor Río de la Loza, Claudio Bernard, and Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas to avoid greater delays in their travel.

Various demonstrations and gatherings by different social groups and unions will take place within the city. On one hand, the Collective "A Light on the Path" will move to Bordo de Xochiaca to start a search brigade for missing persons. Meanwhile, workers from the Pascual Borgia Institute will protest against an unjustified eviction at their workplace.

Additionally, events are expected at the Ministry of the Interior (SEGOB) where the definitive closure of a dolphinarium in Playa del Carmen will be demanded. On the other hand, an informational assembly will be held at the Martínez de la Torre Market to address issues related to the regulation of activities in public markets.

It is important to mention that the Command, Control, Computing, Communications, and Citizen Contact Center of Mexico City (C5) has alerted the population about possible demonstrations and mobilizations that could take place in the city this Monday, February 24, urging additional precautions.
