The Secretariat of Citizen Security in Mexico City seized 85 tons of stolen auto parts and seven motors, arresting three people linked to vehicle theft. This operation is part of efforts to combat illegal auto part trade and enhance public safety.

The Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC CDMX) announced that a search was conducted at a location in the Gustavo A. Madero borough, where 85 tons of auto parts and seven engines reported as stolen were seized. Three people were arrested in connection with the crime of vehicle theft and the illegal trade of auto parts.

In the official statement, it was mentioned that the operation was carried out in collaboration with the Public Ministry and security experts. It was confirmed that the seized auto parts were reported stolen, suggesting that it was a center dedicated to dismantling stolen vehicles. Authorities reported that the recovered parts will be handed over to the Public Ministry for identification and return to their rightful owners.

Additionally, an investigation will be initiated to determine if the detainees were part of a broader network dedicated to the theft and illegal sale of auto parts. This search is part of the measures implemented by the Mexico City government to combat vehicle theft and dismantle criminal networks involved in the illegal trade of auto parts.

Omar García Harfuch, head of SSC CDMX, highlighted the importance of these actions in the fight against illicit activities that harm the population and the city's economy.
