Political Turmoil Surrounds Ariadna Fernanda Case

The former prosecutor of Morelos, Uriel Carmona, was accused of covering up the femicide of Ariadna Fernanda in 2022, which generated mixed opinions and exposed both him and the Attorney General's Office (FGJ) of Mexico City. In a video shared on social media, Carmona's father requested a meeting with President Claudia Sheinbaum to explain his son's situation, who was pointed out for obstruction of justice in the case of the femicide of Ariadna López.

In the video, Uriel Carmona's father asked the president to order the authorities to stop violating the law, as he believes his son has nothing to hide. He denounced the harassment his family has suffered and suggested that the people monitoring their home could attempt to plant false evidence against him. He emphasized that, if there is any crime to prosecute, it should be done according to the law and not through evidence fabrication.

Uriel Carmona's removal as prosecutor of Morelos occurred due to his alleged involvement in the case of Ariadna Fernanda's femicide. He has been removed from office twice, the first time in 2023 when he was accused of collaborating with one of the individuals responsible for the crime, and the second time in February 2025, after being accused of obstructing justice in the same case. In light of these events, his father held the authorities of Morelos, Mexico City, and the Attorney General's Office responsible for any negative situation that may happen to his family.

Uriel Carmona Sánchez publicly reported that since February, his family has been monitored by vehicles with false plates and drones flying over their home. He called for an end to the harassment and stated that they are free of any accusation. He held those watching them responsible for any situation that could harm his family, highlighting that this persecution could also affect any citizen.
