Recently, a brief video was circulated on social media capturing the exact moment an individual robbed a female police officer. In the footage, recorded by a security camera, it shows how the officer, dressed in her uniform, was distracted looking at her mobile phone outside a convenience store.

The video shows the incident in which the police officer was distracted while on duty, almost risking her life. Although the individuals left the frame, it is presumed that the thief managed to escape with the belongings of the officer belonging to the Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat.

According to information from the SSC, the robbery took place last Wednesday, February 19, around 21:40 at the intersection of Michoacán Avenue and 4th Avenue, in the Renovación neighborhood. An armed individual threatened the officer and forced her to hand over her service weapon before fleeing.

After the incident, the affected officer went to the Public Ministry to file the corresponding complaint. The General Directorate of Internal Affairs has initiated an internal investigation to clarify what happened and gather the testimony of the affected officer.

In Mexico City, one of the most important cities in the world, the safety of police personnel is fundamental. In this case, an individual, fully covering his face, suddenly threatened the officer with a firearm, putting her life in danger.
