In Mexico City, Cuauhtémoc Avenue is decorated with promotional materials for an event organized by President Claudia Sheinbaum that will take place next Sunday, March 9th. It is an informational assembly where the actions designed by Sheinbaum's administration in response to the increase in tariffs imposed by the United States on Mexican exports will be presented.
President Sheinbaum initially planned to detail the measures to be taken, but after the postponement of the implementation of some tariffs by President Trump, the event will be transformed into a festival. Sheinbaum emphasized the importance of the agreement reached and announced that musical groups will be invited to celebrate with the people.
Sheinbaum stressed that with the implementation of tariffs being delayed, next Sunday the measures to be taken in response to the U.S. tariffs will no longer be discussed, as she believes it will not be necessary. The mobilization will take place in the Zócalo at noon, a location chosen by the president to inform about the decided actions.
Regarding the promotional materials announcing the event on Cuauhtémoc Avenue, a handwritten phone number is highlighted on some banners, inviting those interested to contact to join the celebration in the Zócalo. On the other hand, the president of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), Francisco Cervantes, anticipated that around 300 businesspeople are expected at the event organized by Sheinbaum.
