At an event organized by the Commission of Security and Justice of Coparmex Nacional and Coparmex Metropolitano, Mariana García Martín del Campo, president of the Women's Business Commission of Coparmex Ciudad de México, emphasized the importance of combating gender-based violence in workspaces.
The business leader pointed out that psychological violence is one of the most common and silent problems in the workplace, resulting in the exclusion of women from decision-making processes, lack of growth opportunities, and persistence of the wage gap.
García Martín del Campo emphasized the need to implement attention and training protocols to identify signs of violence in workplaces. She highlighted the importance of establishing zero-tolerance policies and protocols that provide safety for women to report violence and receive psychological support.
Additionally, she underscored that financial inclusion is essential to reduce gender inequality, as it gives women greater independence and development opportunities. She called for strengthening cooperation between the private sector and public institutions to ensure swift and effective access to justice in cases of gender-based violence.
On the eve of International Women's Day, García Martín del Campo stressed that female leadership is key to the country's growth and urged women entrepreneurs to continue fighting for equity and safety. She highlighted that it is everyone's responsibility to eradicate gender-based violence and change the perception of minimizing rather than bringing visibility to this issue.
