In Gustavo A. Madero, Mexico City, neighbors from San Juan de Aragón detained and beat a man who tried to steal from a child. A video on social media shows several men beating the individual who was attempting to take the child, who was accompanied by his grandmother on the way to school.

After a few seconds, two members of the Citizen Security Secretariat arrived at the scene and arrested the alleged thief. It is unknown what would have happened to the accused if the officers had not intervened.

The recording of the events has already garnered over 100 thousand views on social media, generating comments expressing outrage and support for the actions taken by the neighbors. One comment highlights: 'That one deserves to be lynched, I understand stealing material things but trying to steal a child is unforgivable, he deserves to have his hands cut off at the very least.'

Mexico City, one of the largest metropolises in Latin America, has more than 75 thousand police officers to eradicate insecurity and maintain peace. Despite the efforts of the authorities, some individuals continue to commit crimes, leading some neighbors to take justice into their own hands, especially when it involves attacks on minors, as in this case that has gone viral on social media.
