In the midst of the discussion about bullfighting in Mexico City (CDMX), a resolution aimed at eradicating bullfighting violence was approved with 61 votes in favor. However, a violent incident occurred in front of the capital's Congress, where a protester assaulted a police officer, an action that was captured on video.
Before the CDMX Congress session in which bullfighting with animal mistreatment was prohibited in the capital, protesters attempted to abruptly interrupt the discussion, leading to a confrontation with the police. At that moment, an aggressive protester tried to jump over the metal barriers surrounding the entrance to the Legislative Palace.
The video of the exact moment when this individual assaulted the police officer was shared on social media, generating various opinions among users. In this regard, journalist Jorge Becerril, known as Mr. Diablo, reported on the incident and described the aggression against the member of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC).
In the images, it can be seen how the protester kicks the face of Chief Ocelotl of the SSC of CDMX before attempting to enter the premises. Despite his attempts, other security personnel prevented his passage. So far, the SSC has not provided details on whether the assailant was subsequently detained.
The incident has generated mixed reactions among social media users, who are debating the aggression suffered by the police officer. Jorge Becerril, who witnessed and reported the situation, mentioned: "He gave him pure chloroform, UFC style; all that was missing was my friend Gerson Marlon saying: 'No blinking allowed!'".
