The Chinese Embassy in Mexico has warned citizens about the upcoming performances of 'Shen Yun Performing Arts', associating it with 'Falun Gong', described as a dangerous sect.

Warning from Chinese Embassy in Mexico City

The Chinese Embassy in Mexico issued a warning about the arrival in Mexican territory of 'Shen Yun Performing Arts', a Chinese dance company with events scheduled for early May. In its alert message, the embassy requested that Mexicans stay away from these performances due to the company's connection to the spiritual movement 'Falun Gong', which the embassy itself described as a 'destructive cult'.

The embassy pointed out that Shen Yun Performing Arts, affiliated with Falun Gong, will perform in Mexico City and Guadalajara in May. Despite Falun Gong promoting values such as 'Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance', it was banned by the Chinese government in 1999. Founded in 1992 by Li Hongzhi, this spiritual movement has been the subject of controversy and criticism in China.

The Chinese embassy claimed that Shen Yun is not simply a theatrical performance, but rather a political tool used by Falun Gong to spread its cult and propagate anti-China messages. According to the embassy, the New York Times has reported on alleged abuses against the artists participating in the show, linked to this heretical sect.

The embassy described 'Falun Gong' as an inhumane, unscientific, and antisocial cult, which was banned by the Chinese government in 1999. Chinese diplomatic authorities urged Mexicans to discern between authenticity and falsehood, especially those who appreciate traditional Chinese culture, as they believe that the performances of Shen Yun Performing Arts distort the image of Chinese culture.
