Rapid Police Rescue in Mexico City Prevents Kidnapping

Traffic police in Mexico City arrested a suspected kidnapper who was driving a cargo van and had a woman in her 40s on board. The incident occurred at the intersection of Cuauhtémoc and Chapultepec avenues, in the Juárez neighborhood. During a routine inspection, the officers noticed that the vehicle was driving in the wrong direction and when the driver attempted to flee in reverse, he was immediately intercepted.

Upon stopping the van, a woman inside began to scream for help. The quick action of the police allowed them to rescue the victim and arrest the aggressor, identified as her partner, a 49-year-old man. In the vehicle, they found bladed weapons, two knives, bottles of alcohol, and ropes, leading the police to investigate a possible crime of kidnapping and domestic violence.

The woman, visibly nervous and disturbed, reported being physically and verbally assaulted, as well as being threatened with a knife. After the rescue, the detainee was informed of his rights and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office. It was discovered that the man had a criminal record for theft, with two previous entries in the CDMX Penitentiary System.

The rescue was possible thanks to the timely intervention of the traffic officers, who managed to prevent the aggressor's attempt to flee and took the victim to a safe place. Authorities continue the investigation to fully clarify the events and provide justice to the affected woman.
