Controversial Conduct of Former Minister Revealed

As of now, it is unknown whether Arturo Zaldívar joined the political party, although the behavior evidenced by the leak of information contravenes the ethical guidelines of the party promoted by President Sheinbaum. The retired minister indicated that the SCJN and the company Metrics signed a contract to monitor social media and denied that this was used to create content that favored him.

In the ethical guidelines unanimously approved by the National Council of Morena, there is a section dedicated to the independence of factual powers. It prohibits requesting resources of any kind from private agents or interest groups. The document published on the party's website emphasizes the rejection of influence peddling, sectarianism, nepotism, and subordination to factual powers.

An investigation revealed the operation of a team led by Javier Tejado Dondé to benefit Arturo Zaldívar before and during his path to the presidency of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN). Zaldívar allegedly used this support to attack other SCJN ministers. The investigation points to million-dollar allocations and public contracts with dubious benefits.

The team formed by Tejado Dondé included personnel from Televisa and the Metrics company specialized in black campaigns on the internet. Additionally, public employees of the SCJN were paid on the payroll of the highest court and showed up at the television station instead of working in the Court. Videos attacking Zaldívar's rival ministers were disseminated on social media by this team.

Arturo Zaldívar left the SCJN in November 2023 to join Claudia Sheinbaum's campaign team. He currently serves as the General Coordinator of Politics and Government of the Presidency. After leaving the Court, Mario Delgado Carrillo invited him to join the ranks of Morena.
