Minutes before the incident, Sheinbaum led the National Meeting of Universities and Public Higher Education Institutions at the National Palace, where she called for expanding student enrollment in the country. After concluding the event, the president left the venue and spontaneously approached the people waiting for her outside. With a restrained smile and without losing her calm, she moved away from the aggressor while her companions and security personnel removed him from the scene. It was then that the man managed to position himself beside her, attempted to kiss her on the neck, and after being detained by support staff, placed his hands on Sheinbaum's hip and tried to move them towards her chest.
