As reported by LPO, ahead of the 2027 elections, he seeks to reactivate the candidacies of his political team in Coyoacán and Álvaro Obregón, but he also plans to promote his wife and head of the city's Fondeso, Daniela Cordero, as a candidate in Benito Juárez, the PAN's stronghold, which Morena has so far never managed to win. Throughout his career, Martí Batres built important power structures in the national capital, where he grew as a leader until becoming Head of Government and later a federal figure. Now, sources from the 'chilango' ruling party have told LPO that another candidacy the director of ISSSTE would be pushing for is that of his wife and current head of the city's Fondeso, Daniela Cordero. This move, according to political architects of the 4T, would make sense given the difficulties Morena faces in that alcaldía, considering, for example, that it has never won it due to it being the PAN's national mecca. In the last elections, for instance, the candidate was Leticia Varela, who would not seek re-election due to the difficulties of a victory and because she already works as a government representative before the Federal Court of Conciliation and Arbitration. In this way, Morena is looking for a candidate who could take charge of one of the most difficult territories in the entire national capital. The figure who could raise her hand would be Daniela Cordero, who would count on the help and the political machinery of her husband, Martí Batres. Despite this, in the ruling party, they recognize that for now, names are not abundant, and Daniela Cordero's could be one possible for the first time in that alcaldía. However, in the 2024 elections, after having suffered a distancing from the current Head of Government Claudia Sheinbaum due to the internal conflict in the capital, the now director of ISSSTE suffered a setback in alcaldías and districts that in 2027 he seeks to recover with a series of new candidacies. El Puma Rodríguez is already organizing rallies to build Harfuch's structure in CDMX. This editorial had already anticipated that in this move, his sister and current local deputy, Valentina Batres, would appear, who could compete for the Álvaro Obregón alcaldía, and also the local deputy Gerardo Villanueva, who would raise his hand to run in Coyoacán. This possible entry into electoral politics could be his first crusade at the polls since, until now, he has held executive positions without the approval of the ballots. Anyway, her candidacy does not generate unanimity within the 4T, and not precisely because there are too many candidates; but rather, more than anything, because of the problems that the name Batres could generate in a demarcation with large middle-class sectors where the hardest sectors of the 4T generate strong resistances. The former Head of Government and current director of ISSSTE, Martí Batres, seems determined to have territorial power again in the CDMX.
