National Action Party (PAN) leader Jorge Romero Herrera has distanced himself from a new Generation Z march planned for this Thursday, November 20. 'PAN formally and clearly states: we are not calling for this march,' he said. Romero acknowledged that Edson Andrade Lemus, the young man who organized last Saturday's march and announced he was leaving the country after being exposed by President Claudia Sheinbaum at her morning press conference, has a contract with the PAN committee in Mexico City. 'You violate a criminal's privacy less than you do young people who have committed the sin of speaking out,' Romero stated. He also praised the efforts of thousands of women and men, mostly young people, who participated in the march, saying PAN supports their right to freedom of expression. Romero urged prudence in a context he said could escalate due to the announced presence of citizens and even families, and condemned police actions, which he described as violent. 'Thousands of young people took to the streets to defend their future... and they deserve to be heard, not repressed,' he concluded.
