Security barriers installed around Mexico City landmarks

Major transport unions in Mexico have launched a large-scale strike, blocking key highways around the capital. They are demanding the government ensure security on roads from criminal groups and establish fair prices for their services. The government accuses the organizers of political motives and is trying to resolve the conflict.

Deputy Xóchitl Bravo announced the creation of a Special Commission to investigate the November 15th events on the Zócalo square. The Morena faction claims police acted in response to aggression, while the opposition accused authorities of repression.

Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum says the country has much to celebrate and calls on her supporters to a mass rally on Dec. 6 in Mexico City, in contrast to Generation Z protests.
