The Head of Government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada, presented a review of the security policy implemented last year. She stated that 2025 was the year with the fewest high-impact crimes since 2012, and all such crimes decreased across all 16 boroughs. In 2019, the national capital recorded 131 high-impact crimes per day, but by December 31, 2025, that number had fallen to 57. This was accompanied by the seizure of 1,186 firearms of various calibers. Brugada emphasized that 272 people were arrested for extortion last year, which became a priority for her administration. Additionally, 48 priority targets were arrested, including members of the Unión Tepito criminal syndicate. Security Secretary Pablo Vázquez Camacho reported the confiscation of large quantities of drugs: 863 kg and 75,977 doses of marijuana; 159 kg and 88,643 doses of cocaine; over 87 kg and 21,526 doses of methamphetamine. "We are on the right track," Brugada concluded.
