Venezuelan Tayron Paredes Gamboa, who disappeared in September 2025 in the State of Mexico, was found dead on Friday, January 16, as confirmed by the collective Lirios Buscadores. In a statement, the organization indicated that the body of the 27-year-old young man, who was working as a food delivery man in Mexico when he disappeared on September 19, was located in the municipality of Coyotepec. «His finding hurts us deeply. It confronts us with a reality that should not exist and that crosses thousands of families who go out to look for their loved ones,» the collective specified in its pronouncement. As of January 17, 2026, the authorities of the State of Mexico have not officially reported the finding of the young man's body. Paredes Gamboa disappeared while heading to make a delivery in Huehuetoca, 65 kilometers north of Mexico City, while working as an app-based delivery driver. Katherin Rodríguez, who identified herself as Tayron's cousin, stated at the time on social media that the young man was working as a delivery man when his family «lost his GPS signal at 4:00 p.m.» «Since then we have had no kind of contact with him,» the woman assured after her relative's disappearance. Lirios Buscadores expressed its «solidarity and respect» for Tayron's family and stated that findings without life «do not represent a closure for searching families». «They are an open wound that evidences the urgency of continuing to search and not to normalize disappearance or violence». They also announced that next Saturday, January 24, they will hold a memory event for Tayron Paredes and for all «those who have not yet returned», so they called on artists and plastic artists to support the activities that will take place in the municipality of Cuautitlán Izcalli. The disappearance of Paredes Gamboa transcended because it occurred just one day after the death of Colombian musicians B-King and Regio Clown, whose bodies appeared in Cocotitlán, also in the State of Mexico, after several days disappeared and after the Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, asked for help from the Mexican head of state, Claudia Sheinbaum. This case is an emblematic example of disappearances in Mexico, where to date there are more than 133,000 missing persons, according to data from the National Register of Missing and Unlocated Persons (RNPDNO).
