The Attorney General's Office of Justice of Mexico City reported on the morning of this Tuesday, February 10, the apprehension of a woman for qualified homicide following an investigation into a traffic incident that occurred in Iztapalapa. According to the official communiqué, the FGJCDMX obtained and executed an arrest warrant against a woman identified as Gaby 'N' as a result of progress in the investigation initiated by a traffic incident that occurred on January 3, 2026, in the Iztapalapa borough. The investigations allowed to establish that the victim, a 52-year-old man who was riding a motorcycle, was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Eje 6 Sur Avenue and Periférico Oriente. The apprehended person was transferred to the Santa Martha Acatitla Social Reintegration Center for Women, where her legal situation will be determined. In compliance with the provisions of the National Code of Criminal Procedure and based on the principle of presumption of innocence, the persons mentioned in this communiqué are considered innocent and will be treated as such in all stages of the process, until their responsibility is declared through a sentence issued by the competent judicial authority. These elements made it possible to request the corresponding arrest warrant, which was granted by a control judge. Agents of the Investigative Police (PDI) located Gaby 'N' in the municipality of the Heroic City of Ejutla de Crespo, Oaxaca, where she was apprehended in coordination with the Attorney General's Office of Justice of the State of Oaxaca (FGJEO). After the impact, the vehicle continued its course and dragged the person for several meters, which caused his death. This event was recorded on video and widely disseminated on social networks. Based on the analysis of video recordings, interviews, expert opinions in mechanics and reconstruction of facts, as well as technical follow-up work, the person who was driving the vehicle involved was identified and her probable responsibility in the events was accredited.
