As part of the security operation carried out by the Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat for the International Women's Day march, police detained 10 people in the Cuauhtémoc borough on various illegal charges. During surveillance rounds near the Zócalo, officers observed six men, aged 41, 42, 37, and 20, as well as two 45-year-old individuals, who were damaging a public building with stones and metal meshes. Noticing the presence of the uniformed officers, the individuals attempted to flee in different directions. However, the officers quickly located and detained them, as reported in a press release issued this Monday, March 9. After a preventive search, their constitutional rights were read to them, and they were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry agent, who will determine their legal status. In the same context of the demonstration, three other young people, two minors under 16 and one 18-year-old, were arrested for 'impeding the use of public goods'. Meanwhile, during the accompaniment of the gathering, a 27-year-old woman requested assistance from officers after reporting the theft of her mobile device while walking on Calle Palma in the Centro neighborhood. During the preventive search, agents found the cell phone, which the victim recognized as hers. The detainee was handed over to the Public Ministry agent, who will define his legal situation in the coming hours.
