Two individuals were detained and a significant arsenal of vehicles was secured. The detainees and all secured items were handed over to the corresponding Public Ministry agent, who will determine their legal status and integrate the investigation file. Officers noticed unusual activity on the premises and gathered solid evidence that allowed a Public Ministry agent to request a search warrant from a Control Judge. The deployment, coordinated among various corporations, was carried out “without the use of violence and in strict adherence to the police protocol, use of force, and respect for human rights,” as detailed in the official communiqué. At the location, a 43-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman were detained. The secured items stand out for the quantity and type of vehicles: 33 foreign public transport vehicles, 2 pickup trucks with armor modifications, license plates with theft reports, and various tools and sets of keys. According to the investigations, the artisanally modified vehicles (i.e., with homemade armor) were destined for different northern states of the country, where they would be put up for sale. The property was sealed and remains under police custody while investigations continue. However, neighbors noticed something strange: the constant entry and exit of cars set off alarms. After weeks of investigation, elements of the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC), in coordination with the Justice General Prosecutor's Office (FGJ) of Mexico City, the Navy Secretariat (Semar), National Defense, and the National Guard, executed a search warrant on a property on Pino Street. The result: two people were detained and an arsenal of secured vehicles that includes 33 units of foreign public transport, two pickup trucks with armor modifications, in addition to license plates with theft reports, tools, and several sets of keys. The investigations began with intelligence and fixed and mobile surveillance operations. A warehouse in the Arenal neighborhood, in Azcapotzalco, became the perfect hideout for a fleet of vehicles of dubious origin.
