Deputies from Morena for the Miguel Hidalgo mayor's office, Cecilia Vadillo and Víctor Hugo Romo, demanded the immediate dismissal of Marcela Gómez Salce, commissioner for Citizen Security, after the violent detention of residents who were peacefully protesting the abandonment of Parque Lira.
They denounce repression and violation of human rights Deputy Cecilia Vadillo described the authorities' actions as "deplorable," stating that it was an act of repression against activists, including a 73-year-old woman who ended up hospitalized.
"This is a violation of human rights. The National Action Party has repressive governments," she stated.
Morena has already filed complaints Meanwhile, Deputy Víctor Hugo Romo reported that legal actions have already been initiated with bodies such as the Human Rights Commission of Mexico City.
He detailed that the detained individuals were held for four hours without being presented before a civil judge, which could constitute various crimes: • Abuse of authority • Misuse of functions • Violence and repression • Injuries
Additionally, he confirmed that there are already complaints filed with the Control Office and the Public Servants' Prosecutor's Office.
They demand immediate cessation and reparations During "La Chilanguera," the Morena member was firm in demanding the official's removal:
"We are not asking for a reprimand, we are asking for the immediate cessation of Marcela Gómez Salce."
He also requested that the Council to Prevent and Eliminate Discrimination of Mexico City provide human rights courses for the mayor to prevent these incidents from recurring.
They will take the case to Congress Finally, they announced that next Tuesday they will present a point of agreement in the plenary session of the capital's Congress, where they will include the complaints and exhortations related to this case.
"We defend freedom of expression and non-violence," affirmed Vadillo.
She also lashed out at Mayor Mauricio Tabe, accusing him of ignoring problems such as clandestine landfills while acting against protesters.
Comparison with the response in Azcapotzalco The legislator contrasted the local government's actions with those of the mayor of Azcapotzalco, Nancy Núñez, who —she assured— dismissed officials after a similar case of aggression.
"Tabe doesn't even want to accept responsibility."
