Attention to cases of property dispossession in Mexico City is maintained permanently through coordinated operations between different capital authorities. As part of these actions, from March 23 to 27, 2026, 14 procedures were carried out at various points in the capital, focused on the recovery of properties, the preservation of assets, and the strengthening of the legal framework in complaints about irregular occupations. The operations involved the Government Secretariat of Mexico City and the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City, through the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Environmental Crimes and Urban Protection (FIDAMPU) and the Investigation Police (PDI), responsible for ensuring that each procedure was carried out in accordance with the current legal framework. During the week, the Cabinet against Dispossession intervened in properties located in delegations such as Miguel Hidalgo, Álvaro Obregón, Gustavo A. Madero, Cuauhtémoc, Iztapalapa, Tláhuac, Venustiano Carranza, and Coyoacán, where reports of unauthorized entry, lock changes, violent occupations, and attempts at undue appropriation were addressed. As a result, six property restitutions, four seizures, three deliveries of belongings, and one re-sealing were carried out. These actions allowed returning properties to their legitimate owners or possessors, securing properties under investigation, and maintaining legal custody conditions in spaces linked to files for the crime of dispossession. The procedures included the recovery of houses, apartments, land, and commercial premises, as well as the delivery of assets to those who proved their legitimate possession. In some cases, it was necessary to reinforce seals, weld accesses, or implement additional measures to prevent new occupations while the prosecutorial processes continue. Additionally, in certain operations, comprehensive attention was provided in the presence of minors, the elderly, or companion animals, activating institutional protocols to protect their rights and ensure adequate assistance. The actions also had the support of the Citizen Security Secretariat of Mexico City, the Animal Surveillance Brigade, and DIF, as well as authorities from different delegations, according to the characteristics of each intervention. Coordination between agencies allows for a faster response to citizen complaints, prevents the consolidation of illegal occupations, and provides legal certainty to affected families. Head of Government Clara Brugada reiterated that the protection of families' property is a priority in the capital, so the operations against dispossession will continue permanently, in compliance with the law and with comprehensive attention to each case.
