The National Union of Workers of the Collective Transport System (SNTSTC) has issued an alert over alleged irregularities in works within the Mexico City Metro and requested the direct intervention of Head of Government, Clara Brugada. According to the body, the entry of construction companies without clear accreditation or coordination with technical areas could compromise train operations and pose risks to users and workers. The union accuses companies of entering Metro facilities without presenting formal contracts and without coordinating with the operational staff. The union warned that the lack of control over the works could lead to direct service disruptions by obstructing corridors, interfering with technical maneuvers, and compromising strategic areas. In particular, it warned about possible failures in the track switches at the Universidad terminal, which would increase the risk of incidents affecting users, trains, and infrastructure. In this scenario, the SNTSTC requested the Head of Government to order the action of the involved companies and to ensure that any intervention in the system is carried out by specialized and duly accredited personnel. It also demanded clarity on the identity of the companies executing the works and their contractual conditions. The Mexico City Metro is one of the most used transport systems in the country, so any disruption to its operation directly impacts millions of users. In this context, the union's warning adds to the pressure to ensure that works are carried out under technical and safety standards that prevent incidents and guarantee service continuity. To date, the capital's authorities have not issued an official stance on the allegations.
