The Attorney General's Office of Justice of Mexico City achieved the capture and linkage to process of Adrián “N”, accused of a murder that has shaken the capital with its level of planning: he contacted his victim through a messaging application, killed him, and then tried to pass the crime off as a suicide.
This is how the crime occurred: deception, violence, and staging According to the investigations, the accused would have gained the trust of the man after contacting him via digital message. Once at the home, he physically assaulted him until causing his death. The intention was clear: to divert the investigations and avoid being discovered.
The discovery that uncovered the truth The case took a turn when the victim's mother, on July 3, 2023, went to the residence after noticing a strong smell of gas. Upon entering, she found her son dead, but she also detected inconsistencies: valuable objects and 15,000 pesos in cash were missing. This detail raised the alarms.
Key evidence: cameras, expert reports, and technology The authorities built the case based on testimonies, surveillance recordings, and an electronic device provided by the family. The combination of digital deception, violence, and criminal staging reflects an increasingly sophisticated pattern in urban crimes. The capital's Prosecutor's Office reiterated its commitment to clarifying the facts and ensuring justice for the victims, emphasizing that, in accordance with the law, the accused will be considered innocent until a final sentence is issued.
To this were added expert reports in photography, chemistry, and mechanics of the facts. The result was conclusive: the autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was physical aggression, completely ruling out the suicide hypothesis.
Capture outside CDMX After obtaining the arrest warrant, agents of the Investigation Police located Adrián “N” in San Andrés Cholula, Puebla. In an operation coordinated with the state prosecutor's office, he was arrested and transferred to the capital to face justice.
He has already been linked to the process During the hearing on March 27, 2026, the Public Ministry presented sufficient evidence for a judge to determine his linkage to process for qualified homicide and robbery. He was remanded in custody and given a two-month deadline for the completion of the complementary investigation.
A case that alerts to new risks This crime highlights the dangers of interacting with strangers through messaging applications. However, to erase any trace, he did not stop there: he staged the scene. The alleged assailant placed the body with signs of hanging and opened the gas keys of the property, simulating a death by suicide combined with intoxication.
