The Mexico City Attorney's Office found 317 bone fragments near Lake Chalco. The remains may belong to three or more people and will undergo forensic analysis. Over 400 people, including families of the missing, participated in the search operation.

The Attorney General's Office of Justice of Mexico City and the Search Commission for Persons reported the discovery of 317 bone fragments during the Pattern Search Operation carried out in the area of Lake Chalco, located between the Tláhuac mayor's office and the Chalco municipality. According to preliminary analysis, the remains could correspond to at least three individuals, although they will be subjected to specialized studies to confirm their origin and identity.

Extensive deployment on land and in the lake area

The authorities detailed that, to date, more than 168,000 square meters have been explored, distributed as follows:

• 41,219 m² on land • 127,331 m² in the lake area

During these operations, vessels and materials of possible archaeological interest were also located, which will be analyzed according to the corresponding protocols.

Remains will be analyzed by experts

The bone fragments were transferred to the General Coordination of Forensic Services and Sciences of the capital's Attorney General's Office, where studies will be conducted to determine:

• Their origin • The time period • Possible connection to persons reported as missing

Interinstitutional and family participation

The operation involved various federal and local agencies, including:

• Secretariat of the Navy • Secretariat of National Defense • National Guard • Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City • Heroic Fire Corps of Mexico City • Rescue and Emergency Medical Squad

In total, 415 public servants participated in the operation, accompanied by:

• 22 searching families • 78 supportive individuals • 15 media representatives

The Pattern Search Operations are part of the strategy of the capital government to address the disappearance crisis, which prioritizes:

With this model, the Attorney General's Office and the Search Commission seek to expand the scope of investigations and accelerate the location of missing persons, as well as the clarification of the facts.
