The National Urban Public Security Survey (ENSU) from INEGI revealed today that the Benito Juárez borough is considered the safest in Mexico City and the second safest nationwide. Luis Mendoza, mayor of the area, announced that Benito Juárez will continue to be a safe place through the strengthening of the security strategy 'Blindar BJ 360º'. This strategy will focus on combating and preventing crime in the area, working closely with the capital government.
In a statement, Luis Mendoza expressed: "We are the number one borough in security perception in Mexico City and second place nationally, we will continue to work, transforming what Blindar BJ 360º is, hand in hand with the Secretary of Citizen Security where we will work to always maintain the place we deserve and that we have earned by working together."
During the Security Cabinet held this morning, the ENSU was analyzed. In this context, the mayor mentioned that the security perception index has increased by 36.2 points since the first measurement conducted by boroughs in September 2019, thus reaching 82.5 points.
Luis Mendoza highlighted that the Benito Juárez Borough has maintained the first place in security perception in the capital, as 8 out of 10 residents say they feel safe in the borough. In his own words, Mendoza stated: "The Benito Juárez Borough is committed to ensuring the well-being of its inhabitants permanently."
