On Friday, October 25, three people were arrested in connection with the femicide of criminal lawyer Oralia Pérez Garduño. The Attorney General's Office (FGJ) of Mexico City identified the detainees as Cristian N, Dayna N, and Jair N. The arrest was carried out during a joint operation between members of the Investigation Police (PDI) and police from the Citizen Security Secretariat at a property located in the Doctores neighborhood.
Oralia Pérez was murdered on October 17 on the Miguel Alemán Viaduct, near the Roma Sur neighborhood, in the Cuauhtémoc municipality. The lawyer was driving a gray SUV along the side of the avenue when two individuals on a motorcycle approached and shot at her. Although it was initially thought to be an attempted robbery, the identification of the lawyer led to suspicions of a possible assassination.
After the attack, the assailants fled on the motorcycle and abandoned the vehicle on a street in the Obrera neighborhood, near the Tlalpan road, in the Cuauhtémoc municipality. They then entered the Chabacano Metro to escape for good.
