The recognized journalist and communicator Eddy Warman reported through his social media that he and nine other hosts were victims of an armed robbery on the streets of Mexico City (CDMX). The events occurred at the intersection connecting Circuito Interior and the avenues Juan Escutia and Constituyentes, an area he described as "a very dangerous crossroad" where security and surveillance were absent.
According to Warman's account, he was inside his vehicle waiting for the traffic light to change to cross along with other cars when two armed young men approached the vehicles and began to rob the drivers. In a video posted on his Twitter account and his YouTube channel, the journalist explained how the crime occurred and pointed out the lack of police presence in the area, highlighting the low efficiency and scarce intelligence in the Secretary of Citizen Security headed by Pablo Vázquez.
Warman took the opportunity to harshly criticize the work of the capital police and the lack of patrolling in the area. In addition, he noted the lack of planning and security during major events such as parades and car competitions, which, according to him, neglects the protection of the city.
The communicator called on the president of Mexico, Clara Sheinbaum, the head of government of CDMX, Clara Brugada, and the new mayor of Cuauhtémoc, Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, asking them to take concrete measures to address the growing insecurity in the center of the country. Warman highlighted that the Condesa area and the Cuauhtémoc borough in general have become particularly dangerous in recent months, reflecting an increase in insecurity that he considers uncontrollable.
Amid his complaint, the communicator expressed his concern about the chaotic situation of insecurity in Mexico City and the need for immediate action by the competent authorities to guarantee the safety of citizens.
