Jorge Romero elected new PAN leader

The new national leader of the National Action Party (PAN), Jorge Romero Herrera, has a long-standing career in the political arena. Born on January 3, 1979, in Mexico City, Romero Herrera is a lawyer from the Escuela Libre de Derecho. Jorge Romero has held various positions within Acción Nacional, serving as the delegational chief of Benito Juárez from 2012 to 2015, in addition to being a federal deputy since 2018, where he also served as vice-coordinator and coordinator of the parliamentary group.

Romero Herrera has also held prominent roles within the PAN over the years. He was a regional advisor for the party from 2001 to 2007, a member of the National Council of PAN from 2012 to 2020, and a member of the National and Regional Permanent Commission from 2012 to 2018. In the event that Morena rejects the dialogue, Romero pointed out that the PAN will raise its voice in the streets as a way to assert its position and seek solutions.

In the internal electoral process of the PAN that led him to the presidency of the party, Jorge Romero received almost 80 percent of the votes, significantly surpassing his competitor Adriana Dávila.
