Judge Lilia Mónica López, a member of the Federal Judiciary Council (CJF), is at the center of criticism due to her participation in a nepotism network within the Judicial Power. It has been revealed that at least seven relatives of López work in various positions within this institution.
Among the judge's relatives, her daughter Mireya Rebollo stands out, who serves as a secretary in the Court. Mireya is the result of the relationship between López and her ex-husband, Antonio Rebollo, who holds the position of magistrate in the Fifth Collegiate Labor Court of the First Circuit in Mexico City. In addition to her daughter, López's brothers, Carlos and Héctor López Benítez, are also part of this nepotism network, with positions in the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation (TEPJF) and as a court clerk, respectively.
Another notable case is Juana Fuentes Velázquez, judge of the Eleventh Labor Court of Individual Matters in Mexico City, who also has seven relatives working in the Judicial Power in various capacities. Among her first-degree relatives is her husband, Juan Martín Vera, secretary in the Tenth Collegiate Labor Court of the First Circuit in Mexico City, as well as four brothers and two uncles holding other positions in different judicial instances.
