The Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) deployed a large-scale operation during the match between Club América and Cruz Azul, which resulted in the detention of dozens of people — América fans — for ticket resale and other administrative offenses at the Azteca Stadium.
Ticket scalpers detained during the operation During the security, surveillance, and control operation implemented in the Coyoacán mayor's office, capital police detained 21 people for probable ticket resale, who were offering tickets at prices higher than authorized. Among those detained were six minors and 14 people with prior records for this practice.
Additionally, in parallel actions to ensure public order, 31 people were detained for reserving spaces on public roads, in violation of the Civic Culture Law.
Removal of fans and detentions Authorities reported that a 38-year-old man was removed from the stadium after putting his integrity at risk by climbing a fence on repeated occasions and disobeying security instructions. On the other hand, at security checkpoints, Auxiliary Police elements removed four people carrying suspected drugs, including marijuana, mushrooms, and a container with thinner.
Direct supervision by authorities At the end of the match, the head of the SSC, Pablo Vázquez Camacho, went to the venue to supervise the operation until the total evacuation of attendees, accompanied by police commanders. The deployment included traffic actions on main avenues such as Insurgentes, with the aim of expediting the exit of thousands of fans after the match.
