Formula 1 Mexico Grand Prix 2024 Kicks Off

The Mexican Grand Prix, the twentieth race of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship, takes place at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City. F1 arrived in the Mexican capital on Monday with over 50 tons of equipment to experience the excitement of the competition live.

This edition is special as Latin drivers like Sergio 'Checo' Pérez, Franco Colapinto, Pato O'Ward, and Felipe Drugovich are prominent on the track. 'Checo' Pérez, the only Mexican to step on the podium at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, seeks to leave behind bad streaks and face the competition motivated at home after an unfortunate retirement in 2023.

Regarding the activities and schedule of the 2024 Mexican Grand Prix, the agenda includes practices on Friday and Saturday, followed by qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday, as well as other competitions like the Súper Copa Roshfrans GTM, Masters Historic, and F4.

Tickets to witness Formula 1 in Mexico sold out quickly in the presale and general sale. However, some were released at a cost of 43,500 pesos in July. The event has been a success in the hometown of 'Checo' Pérez.

After the Mexican Grand Prix, the 2024 F1 season has four more races scheduled before its conclusion. Furthermore, the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, with 71 laps or 120 minutes of racing, is a historic circuit measuring 4,304 kilometers in length, hosting F1 since its return to the calendar.

In terms of 'Checo' Pérez's performance at the GP of Mexico, the driver has achieved two third places in the editions of 2021 and 2022. This is his ninth home Grand Prix, where he seeks to surpass his previous records and stand out before the local audience.
