Mexico City has caught the excitement of Formula 1 ahead of the celebration of the Mexican Grand Prix, which will take place this weekend at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
Sergio Checo Pérez and Max Verstappen participated in a pre-event activity, in which they had to kick balls towards a target. Checo hit four out of five shots, scoring a total of 13 points, while Verstappen achieved three hits and accumulated 10 points, making Checo the clear winner. "We are starting the weekend well," said Checo Pérez, excited about his performance.
The festive atmosphere continued with a friendly soccer match called "From the Track to the Field," where Checo and Verstappen led teams made up of former players and wrestlers. Checo's team won 9-8 and received a trophy as recognition at the end of the match.
Checo Pérez expressed his motivation to race at home during a press conference, where he presented his commemorative helmet for the Mexican Grand Prix. "It is undoubtedly an extra motivation to see all the people supporting you," said the driver, highlighting the importance of competing surrounded by his people.
