The Mexican Grand Prix of Formula 1 has a rich history, with several stages over the years. The competition was held for the first time in the country from 1962 to 1970, then returned from 1986 to 1992, and finally, after 31 years of absence, it returned in 2015 to the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City.

Throughout the history of the race in Mexico, there has been a clear protagonist: Max Verstappen from the Red Bull team. The Dutch driver has been the top winner of the Mexican Grand Prix, achieving a total of five victories. Since Formula 1 returned to the Mexican circuit, Verstappen has emerged as the most successful driver in that setting.

Regarding pole position, Verstappen has only obtained it once, in 2022. However, his dominance on the track during the race has been evident, winning the last three editions. With these triumphs, Max Verstappen seeks to consolidate his dominance at the Mexican Grand Prix once again in the 2024 season.

Over the years, Verstappen has demonstrated a particularly outstanding skill on the Mexican circuit, outperforming other tracks where he has competed. Despite his outstanding performance in the races, he has not performed as well in the qualifying sessions at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez as in the competitions.

In previous competitions, other drivers have stood out in the Mexican Grand Prix, such as Nigel Mansell and Alain Prost, but currently, Max Verstappen stands as the driver with the most victories in that event. His record in Mexico even surpasses other iconic Formula 1 races, such as in Spain, Austria, and Abu Dhabi, where he has achieved multiple wins throughout his career.
