Mexican driver Sergio Pérez had a challenging race at the Mexican Grand Prix, finishing in last place among the drivers who completed the event at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Although he did not suffer an accident at the start like the previous year, Pérez was penalized almost at the beginning of the race and struggled to recover positions.
In statements after the race, Pérez expressed his desire to win the Mexican Grand Prix in the future. Although he had anticipated that it would be difficult to contest the podium due to the conditions of his car and his position on the starting grid, the driver faced more adversities by receiving a five-second penalty before the start for a poor positioning in his box and later collided with Liam Lawson during the race.
Despite having gained some positions, Dutch driver Max Verstappen could not fight for a podium spot in this race. He started second on the grid, passed Carlos Sainz to take the lead, but suffered setbacks that relegated him to fifteenth position after receiving penalties for on-track maneuvers.
For his part, the race winner, Carlos Sainz, celebrated a dominant performance at the Mexican Grand Prix, achieving his fourth victory in Formula One, his second of the season. Sainz maintained the lead for a large part of the competition and crossed the finish line in first place after a solid performance.
The Ferrari team, to which Sainz belongs, is positioned in second place in the Constructors' Championship behind McLaren, reinforcing their presence in the fight for the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships. As the season progresses, the competition intensifies with only four races remaining on the calendar.
