Checo Pérez faces a challenging future with Red Bull amid 15 consecutive races without a podium. His contract runs until 2026, but rumors suggest his spot could be at risk depending on future performance.

Checo Pérez's Uncertain Future Amidst Rumors

The future of Checo Pérez is in doubt after the revelation that Red Bull might be interested in signing Argentine driver Franco Colapinto. This has shaken the environment of the Mexican driver, especially in a season where he has gone through a slump of 15 races without reaching the podium. This situation has led Pérez to eighth place in the championship and has impacted Red Bull's position in the fight for the Constructors' title, dropping to third place after the Mexican Grand Prix.

Although Checo signed a contract with Red Bull until 2026, rumors about his possible departure at the end of the season have increased due to his streak of poor results. The driver himself has expressed his intention to continue competing at least until 2026, which could imply the search for a new team in case he leaves Red Bull.

An option for Pérez would be to join Williams if they do not renew with Alex Albon, or he could even be considered by Mercedes after Lewis Hamilton's departure. Although the team has already announced a replacement for Hamilton, Checo's experience in Formula 1 could work in his favor if he seeks a new team.

Red Bull is also a possibility for Pérez, being the sister team of the one he is already part of. Despite his bad streak, Checo should not have problems securing offers given his proven competitiveness in the top category of motorsport.

Red Bull's interest in Franco Colapinto, confirmed by Christian Horner, adds uncertainty to Checo Pérez's future in the team. Horner praised the Argentine driver's skills, which could complicate Pérez's continuity in the Austrian team.
