Miguel Hidalgo Launches Anti-Littering Initiative

The mayor of Miguel Hidalgo, Mauricio Tabe, committed to eradicating illegal dumps in the area to make the streets more organized, clean, and safe. To achieve this, the evening service routes 'Tecolote' will be expanded in areas with the highest number of complaints, in addition to continuing operations to sanction those who throw trash in public spaces.

At a press conference, Tabe mentioned that the program "Blindar MH" has been implemented at key points to discourage the accumulation of garbage. During his administration, the number of illegal dumps has been reduced from 92 to 53, with the goal of eliminating all of them completely.

"In the coming days, we will be reclaiming several spots invaded by illegal dumps. That is why, in Miguel Hidalgo, we launched the Tecolote Program so that residents can dispose of their trash at night when they return from work or school," the mayor declared.

Regarding legal actions, the mayor confirmed that throwing garbage in the streets of Miguel Hidalgo will not be tolerated. Operations have been conducted to refer those caught committing this offense to the Civic Court, with six people referred between December and February. Additionally, fines and arrests will be imposed on those who violate this regulation.

Furthermore, Tabe announced that the garbage collection service will conduct between 6 and 10 additional rounds. He pointed out that the objective is not to pursue residents but to offer alternatives for proper trash disposal.

Moreover, he invited the residents of the municipality to participate in the "Encarreradas 2025" race in commemoration of International Women's Day, scheduled for March 9 at Campo Marte with distances of 5 and 10 kilometers, with registration opening this week.
