Arca Continental and FEMSA, two Mexican companies of Monterrey origin, have been highlighted for being included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI World), an index developed by Standard & Poor's that groups the top 10% of the 2,500 largest publicly traded companies in the world that demonstrate the best performance in environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) aspects.
Entering this indicator requires passing a detailed evaluation based on nearly 600 indicators covering areas such as corporate governance, ethics, risk management, as well as environmental and social practices. The index, launched in 1999, is maintained by S&P Dow Jones Indices in collaboration with RobecoSAM, a Zurich-based firm specialized in global sustainability research.
In addition to being present in the DJSI World, Arca Continental and FEMSA are part of The Sustainability Yearbook 2025, which evaluates 780 companies based on their results in the assessment to integrate into the DJSI World. Furthermore, both companies achieved outstanding results in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) evaluation, a non-profit organization that manages an independent global environmental disclosure system.
These companies not only demonstrate solid financial and operational performance but also excel in their resilience to geopolitical and macroeconomic challenges, making them attractive to investors in the Mexican Stock Exchange.
Being present in these rankings and measurements is part of the path towards sustainability that companies undertake, based on the principles of transparency, commitment, and accountability. It is a recognition that involves a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement, as society's expectations regarding corporate responsibility in environmental protection and community development continue to grow.
