A man confronted the owners of Café Lavé over threats and damage caused to the establishment. During the discussion, the individual pushed a person who was recording him and warned that he could be imprisoned for threatening a woman. Despite his initial defense of respecting women's rights, the man agreed to apologize to those affected.
According to the café owner, Joan Serra Montagut not only broke objects but also threatened to kill a worker inside the establishment, preventing her from leaving. In light of this behavior, the Secretariat of Public Security of Yucatán sent members of the State Investigation Police to the scene to address the reported damage to the property and the threats made.
The incident started when the Spanish citizen, identified as Joan Serra Montagut, became upset about the volume of the music in the café and began insulting the worker, even after she attended to his request to lower the sound. The man, staying in a nearby property, staged a violent scene inside the establishment, breaking objects despite the woman's refusal.
In response to the situation, the owner of the premises expressed his intention to file a formal complaint. Although the incident is under investigation, more information is expected to be disclosed through official channels in the future. On social media, Joan Serra Montagut's conduct was condemned by users who demanded his detention or expulsion from Mexico and showed solidarity with the woman affected by the altercation.
