The Municipal Government of Naucalpan, State of Mexico, reported that starting at 8:00 PM on Friday, November 7th, the closure of the lateral lanes of Periférico Norte began, in the section between Río San Joaquín and Avenida Primero de Mayo, due to rehabilitation works using hydraulic concrete.
The works will have an approximate duration of 40 days, so it is recommended that motorists take precautions and use alternative routes. According to the official communiqué, the work will be carried out in two 24-hour fronts, in both directions of the roadway, from south to north and north to south, in order to optimize execution times and reduce traffic disruptions.
In order to minimize inconvenience to users and due to the works, the roadway will be closed for an estimated 40 days, so it is suggested to take alternative routes. The project contemplates the total rehabilitation of the lateral lanes with hydraulic concrete, a material that will offer a useful life of over 10 years and will reduce the formation of potholes caused by the rainy season.
According to the authorities, the reopening of the roadway section is scheduled for December 16, 2025, weather and construction conditions permitting. The government of Naucalpan explained that the intervention is taking place at a strategic point for metropolitan mobility, as Periférico Norte connects directly with Mexico City and represents one of the routes with the highest daily vehicular flow.
«We thank you for your understanding in carrying out these works for the benefit of all,» stated the local administration in its communiqué, highlighting that the works seek to improve the safety and durability of the roadway.
The authorities urged drivers to plan their routes in advance, use alternative routes such as Avenida Gustavo Baz and Lomas Verdes, and respect the traffic signs established during the intervention period.
