A serious truck accident occurred in the municipality of Naucalpan de Juárez. On Monday morning, a garbage truck sped down a steep slope in the San Mateo Nopala area at high speed. The vehicle crashed through a concrete fence before finally falling onto pedestrian stairs and residential houses.
The incident left two people injured: the driver of the heavy vehicle and a woman who was passing by at the time. Both victims received immediate attention from emergency services. They were quickly transferred to the Lomas Verdes Traumatology Hospital for the necessary medical evaluation.
At the scene, local authorities deployed a coordinated operation between Civil Protection and the Municipal Guard. The objective was to secure the perimeter and mitigate risks for the residents of the area. The Naucalpan government reported that the truck was driving on a road with a steep slope where heavy vehicle transit is restricted.
"Authorities initiated the corresponding forensic investigations to determine if the event was caused by excessive speed, a mechanical failure, or a loss of control by the operator."
The local government assured that it will provide support and advice to the affected individuals. This will ensure that, according to the law, they can be compensated for the damages caused by those responsible. This is not the first time a truck has overturned in this neighborhood.
Exactly one year ago, on March 8, 2025, another cargo vehicle crashed on the same Calvario street. That incident resulted in two injuries and four affected homes.
