The Secretary of Security of the State of Mexico, Cristóbal Castañeda, clarified that the photographs circulating on social media on February 5 of 'Fofo' Márquez, dressed in orange, kneeling and shaved, are not recent and the inmate is under surveillance in the prison. These images correspond to the moment he entered the Barrientos detention center days after his arrest for the attempted feminicide of Edith Márquez in Naucalpan.
Castañeda mentioned that surveillance is maintained to prevent mistreatment of 'Fofo' Márquez, referring to an incident in Barrientos prison where guards recorded an assault to extort money from the inmate's mother. Currently, the inmate is monitored and under surveillance in the Texcoco prison, in good condition.
Regarding Rodolfo 'N', it was clarified that the circulating photographs also correspond to last year and that the inmate remains under surveillance in the Texcoco prison. The Secretary of Security of the State of Mexico continues to collaborate with the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico in the investigation regarding the images that were disseminated in the media and social networks.
On another note, the lawyers of influencer 'Fofo' Márquez will appeal the sentence of 17 years and six months in prison imposed against him for attempted feminicide. Judge Carmen Villalobos explained that the conviction was based on a video showing 'Fofo' physically assaulting Edith. In addition to the prison sentence, he will have to pay fines and receive psychological treatment with a gender perspective for two years.
