Fofo Márquez Awaits Sentencing After Assault Case

Juan Fernández Albarrán is awaiting a verdict following the case of Rodolfo Márquez. After preventive detention was ordered for Márquez due to the assault, a four-hour hearing took place, where the influencer's defense presented evidence to attempt to prove his alleged innocence.

During the hearing, at the Control, Oral Trial, and Sentencing Execution Center of Barrientos, Rodolfo Márquez Floresto, son of Rodolfo Márquez, took the floor to apologize to his victim, Edith 'N': "I want to take this moment to publicly apologize to Mrs. Edith and to all the women of Mexico."

He admitted his guilt for the assault, stating: "I committed something I should not have done" and requested that his case be taken as an example for young people. Edith 'N', the assaulted woman, expressed after leaving the hearing that she does not believe in Márquez's apologies, asserting that he does not feel genuine remorse for his actions.

Edith also referred to the demonstration in support of Márquez's release and to feeling vulnerable at the possibility of an assault. On the other hand, the defense argued that the injuries did not endanger the victim's life and that Márquez did not intend to kill Edith.

The new hearing for Rodolfo 'Fofo' Márquez is scheduled for January 22 at 4:00 PM. Meanwhile, the influencer has requested to be judged like any common citizen and not as a public figure. Almost a year after the assault, the legal process continues at the Tlalnepantla Penitentiary and Social Reintegration Center.
