The Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico has reported that three municipal police officers from Naucalpan de Juárez have been formally charged with abuse of authority and torture against a transgender woman. The incident occurred on July 27, 2025, on Avenida Parque de Chapultepec. The victim, identified as Michelle Cano Hernández, 34, intervened after witnessing the officers dragging other people. She began recording the scene on her cell phone, an action that allegedly provoked a physical assault by the police. According to Michelle's account, after calling for backup, the officers subdued her and forced her to delete the video material. She was then taken in a patrol car to an isolated area in the San Miguel Atoto neighborhood. Michelle detailed the torture, stating: «They started to stab me, they told me they were going to remove my prosthetics... they gave me injections». If found guilty, the accused could face a prison sentence of up to 30 years under the State of Mexico's Penal Code.
