The Governor of Estado de México, Delfina Gómez, along with local leaders launched a national strategy to improve health and nutrition for 1.4 million primary school students.


Launch of 'Healthy Living, Happy Living' Strategy

In the State of Mexico, Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez and President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo have launched the National Strategy "Live Healthy, Live Happy" with the aim of promoting healthy school environments and ensuring the well-being of children. This strategy will benefit 1.4 million primary school students in more than seven thousand schools in the region.

Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez emphasized the importance of teamwork to carry out this strategy, involving municipal authorities and various institutions, such as the DIF and IMSS-Bienestar. From the Isidro Fabela Primary School in Nezahualcóyotl, 92 health brigades have been initiated that will visit thousands of educational institutions in the State of Mexico, including various subsystems.

The "Live Healthy, Live Happy" strategy seeks to improve the physical, mental, and nutritional health of children through a comprehensive approach that promotes healthy habits and prevents diseases. During a live link in the Morning of the People, appreciation was expressed for the implementation of this initiative led by the Secretariat of Public Education, highlighting the role of Mario Delgado Carrillo in this matter.

The Governor, accompanied by the General Director of IMSS, Zoé Robledo Aburto, inspected the oral health, nutrition, and health promotion modules at Isidro Fabela Primary School. The importance of the participation of parents, teachers, and students in the success of the strategy was emphasized, and a call was made to take care of both the physical and mental health of the students.

The event was also attended by the Secretary of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, the Secretary of Health, and the General Director of DIFEM, underscoring the importance of collaboration between different levels of government and the school community to ensure the well-being of children in the State of Mexico.
