
In a joint operation by the Special Forces of the Defense, the Secretary of the Navy (SEMAR), the Attorney General's Office (FGR), the National Guard (GN), and the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Ricardo González Sauceda, also known as 'El Ricky' or 'Mando R,' was arrested in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. González Sauceda, 27 years old, is identified as responsible for various criminal activities, including extortion and attacks on police forces.
He is attributed with coordinating an attack that occurred on August 17, 2024, in which five military personnel were injured and two were killed in Nuevo Laredo. He also faces charges for aggravated damages caused by fire, flooding, or explosion, deprivation of liberty, and aggravated homicide in Tamaulipas. González Sauceda, considered the second-in-command of the Northeast Cartel (CDN) and regional chief in Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, and Coahuila, was located in a mobility area in Nuevo Laredo after surveillance by the authorities.
Additionally, in 2022, he was involved in the murder of six members of the Civil Force of Nuevo León. The detainee has two outstanding arrest warrants for attempted aggravated homicide and for crimes against official institutions and public servants. Following his arrest, González Sauceda was informed of his constitutional rights and is now at the disposal of the Public Ministry agent, who will determine his legal situation and continue investigating his criminal activities. During the operation, authorities observed that he was carrying what appeared to be a firearm.
