The Government of Oaxaca, led by Governor Salomón Jara Cruz, has launched the program for the welfare of Primavera Women with the aim of supporting female entrepreneurs in the state. This initiative aims to support the self-employment of 9,500 women through the granting of microcredits.
On the occasion of International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8, this program seeks to strengthen the ventures and projects of this sector by providing microcredits of 5,000 pesos with an interest rate of 0 percent. The Governor emphasized his commitment to the development and welfare of priority groups by allocating a historic budget for social programs, including this support scheme for women through direct credits.
The Secretariat of Welfare, Tequio and Inclusion (Sebienti) of the Government of Oaxaca will invest 50 million pesos in the Primavera Women program to promote the economic and productive inclusion of women aged 18 to 62. The head of Sebienti, Vilma Martínez Cortés, emphasized the crucial role of women in the transformation of Oaxaca and the positive impact of these actions on future generations.
The program will benefit women residing in Oaxaca with incomes lower than that of a household in extreme poverty, offering microcredits of 5,000 pesos with a six-month repayment period. The call for applications will be open from March 8 to July 31, and interested parties will need to submit various documents at the Bienestar Modules to access the credit.
It is important to mention that Sebienti will deploy a work team to facilitate the registration of women from all regions interested in participating in the program. The intention behind this initiative is to promote economic development and boost entrepreneurship among Oaxacan women, with the purpose of building a prosperous future full of opportunities for all.
